Tai Chi New Year and Australia Day demonstrations

Happy New Year from TCA instructor Team! As we turn the calendars from 2022 to 2023, we wish you and your family, friends and neighbours good health and prosperity.

Australia is the most successful multicultural society in the world. Almost half of the current population was either born overseas or has at least one parent born overseas.We come from every culture, every race, every faith, every nation but we are defined not by race, religion or culture. Instead, we pick up the best from each culture for our own good, like Tai Chi and Health Qigong, which has proven to be beneficial to both our mental and physical health. This is an excellent example of a harmonious nation embracing its diversity.

To celebrate the cultural diversity TCA will participate in the following event and we would like to invite you to join us:

2023 Australia Day Celebration

Open Day will run from 10.30am to 4.30pm on Thursday 26 January.

Entry information

Please note: Entry on the day will be via the Front gates in Government House Drive. Government House Drive is off Linlithgow/Birdwood Avenue.

Flag raising ceremony

Prior to the commencement of Open Day at 10.30am, the Governor will be hosting the annual Flag Raising Ceremony to mark Australia Day on the Western Lawn. The Flag raising ceremony begins at 9.30am. You are very welcome to come and watch the ceremony.
 
Catering information

Food can be purchased onsite from the community BBQs, ice cream vans, coffee carts and the Country Women’s Association of Victoria.
 
Please dress suitably for the weather on the day and bring a bottle of water with you.  There will be two hydration units on site to refill your bottle.

Tyakuwala Cultural Festival in Deniliquin, NSW

This month, we held a demo in NSW, see photos below.

Tyakuwala - To feast, to celebrate (Wamba Wamba). This festival is being held within the homelands of the Wamba Wamba/Perrepa Perrepa Peoples and recognises the unique and diverse cultures within the Edward River Council community in and around the Kolety (Edward River). It was held in the Waring gardens on 14th and 15th of January 2023.
