Sonja

Instructor: Sonya

Sonja has been studying Tai Chi for 18 years and teaching for 17 years. She teaches Lotus, Shibashi, Beijing 12, 24 Form, 32 Sword, 42 Form, 42 Sword, Shaolin Pole, Chen Style 19, Chen Style Broadsword and Tai Chi Single-Fan. She is an excellent teacher in all of these forms but particularly enjoys teaching the weapon forms and 24 Form.

Sonja has traveled to China 3 times for extensive periods of study at the Beijing Sport University and attended intensive training programmes here in Australia with Grand Master Chen Xiao Wang, Professor Men Hui Feng and Master Wandy Ng.

Sonja has competed in various National All Styles competitions, Beijing Foreign Student Tai Chi Competitions and the Tasmania Tai Chi Championships 1994. She completed an International Judging Course in 2005.

In Sonja’s other life she is an Analyst Programmer (IT) but is currently working in Clinic Management with her husband who is a Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner. She is very interested in self-healing principles including meditation, Qigong, Dao Yin etc. plus needlecraft, reading and activities with her family.

Sonya was born in the Year of the Snake.

Clayton

Instructor: Clayton

Clayton has been studying Tai Chi for 14 years and teaching for 9 years. He teaches Lotus, Shibashi, Beijing 12, 24 Form, 32 Sword and Dao Yin Qigong. His favourites are Beijing 12, 24 Form and the Dao Yin Qigong. He is specialised in Tai chi for Seniors Program.

Clayton has traveled to China once to study and attended intensive training programmes here in Australia with Professors Men Hui Feng and Yang Bailong.

In Clayton’s other life he enjoys AFL, horse racing and meditation.

Clayton was born in the Year of the Horse.

Andy

Instructor: Andy

Andy has been studying Tai Chi for 9 years and teaching for 4 years. He teaches Beijing 12, 24 Form, 32 Sword and 42 Form. He particularly enjoys teaching contemporary Tai Chi and Wushu for competition standard.

Andy has traveled to China twice for live-in training and attended intensive training programmes here in Australia with Professors Men Hui Feng and Yang Li, and Master Chen Jing.

Andy was an Australian Team member for the 8th and 9th World Wushu – Tai Chi Championships 2005 in Vietnam and 2007 in China. He has received gold medals for Tai Chi barehand, Tai Chi Sword and Tai Chi Overall Champion plus a silver medal for 42 Form at the 2006 Australian National Wushu Championships. In the 2007 Australian National Wushu Championships he was the Tai Chi 42 Form Champion (the only event he entered).

In Andy’s other life he works in the Electricals Industry. He enjoys soccer, travelling, AFL and collecting movies.  

Andy was born in the Year of the Pig.

Justin

Instructor: Justin

Justin has been studying Tai Chi for 10 years and teaching for 6 years. He teaches Beijing 12, 24 Form, 32 Sword, 42 Form, 42 Sword 19 Chen, Dong Yue Broadsword and Tai Chi Single-Fan.

Justin has attended several intensive training programmes here in Australia including a course with Professor Men Hui Feng. He also received one Gold Medal in Tai Chi at the 2004 Australian National Wushu Championships.

Justin was born in the Year of the Dragon.

Brian

Instructor: Brian

Brian has been studying Tai Chi for 13 years and teaching for 7 years. He teaches Beijing 12, 24 Form, 32 Sword and 42 Form. He particularly enjoys teaching Beijing 12, 24 Form and 32 Sword.

Brian has attended several intensive training programmes here in Australia with Grand Master Chen Xiao Wang, Professors Men Hui Feng and Zhang Guang De.

In Brian’s other life he enjoys golf, reading and walking.

Brian was born in the Year of the Snake.

Bob

Instructor: Bob

Bob has been studying Tai Chi for 24 years and teaching for 14 years. He teaches Beijing 12, 24 Form, 32 Sword, 42 Form, 42 Sword, Chen Style 19, Chen Style Broadsword, Tai Chi Single-Fan, Shaolin Pole and Walking Stick. He also takes Wushu classes and teaches Five Stances, Wushu Sword and Wushu Broadsword. He enjoys teaching all of them.

Bob has attended intensive training programmes here in Australia with Grand Master Chen Xiao Wang, Professors Men Hui Feng and Yang Li.

Before studying Tai Chi, Bob had many years experience in Taekwando and obtained a 2nd Dan Black Belt in Tang Soo Do.

In Bob’s other life he enjoys golf and ballroom dancing.

Bob was born in the Year of the Ox.

Norman

Instructor: Norman

Norman has been studying Tai Chi for 12 years and teaching for 4 years. He teaches Shibashi, Beijing 12, 24 Form, 42 Form and Dao Yin Qigong. He particularly enjoys teaching the Shibashi, Beijing 12 and 24 Form.

Norman has attended intensive training programmes here in Australia with Professor Men Hui Feng.

In Norman’s other life he enjoys cycling and swimming.

Norman was born in the Year of the Tiger.

Judy

Instructor: Judy

Judy has been studying Tai Chi for 11 years and teaching for 6 years. She teaches Beijing 12, 24 Form, 32 Sword, 42 Form and Tai Chi Single-Fan, and loves teaching all of them.

Judy has traveled to China 4 times, twice to study with Professor Men Hui Feng and has attended intensive training programmes here in Australia with Professors Men Hui Feng and Yang Li, and Master Hui He Tong. She completed an International Judging Course in 2005.

In Judy’s other life she is a writer. She is very interested in people, travel, Pilates, theatre, creative writing, painting, needlepoint embroidery and reading.

Judy was born in the Year of the Dog.

Danny

Instructor: Danny

Danny has been studying Tai Chi for 14 years and teaching for 11 years. He teaches Beijing 12, 24 Form, 32 Sword, 42 Form, 42 Sword, Tai Chi Single Fan, Walking Stick, Shaolin Pole, Chen Style 19, Chen Style Broadsword, Dong Yue Broadsword, and Eight Golden Treasures Brocade Qigong form etc. He enjoys teaching all of them.

Danny has traveled to China twice and attended intensive training programmes here in Australia with Professor Men Hui Feng.

In Danny’s other life he is a non-practicing lawyer and company director. He enjoys sailboarding, guitar and reading.

Danny was born in the Year of the Ox.

David

Instructor: David

David has been studying Tai Chi for 14 years and teaching for 4 years. He teaches Beijing 12, 24 Form, 32 Sword, 42 Form and 42 Sword. His specialties are the 42 Form and 42 Sword.

David has traveled to China 3 times to study at the Beijing Sport University and attended intensive training programmes here in Australia with Professors Men Hui Feng and Yang Li, and Master Wandy Ng.

He competed for the first time at the 3rd World Traditional Wushu Festival in Shiyan, China in 2008.

In David’s other life he is the director of a very successful graphic design company. He is very interested in film especially Chinese Martial Arts movies, a wide range of music, enjoys good food, good wine and good books, especially science fantasy and has a love affair with China.

David was born in the Year of the Horse.

Anne W

Instructor: Anne W

Anne has been studying Tai Chi for 12 years and teaching for 3 years. She currently teaches Shibashi, Lotus, Qigong, Beijing 8 Form, 12 Form, 24 Form, 8 Form Sword and 32 Form Sword routines.

Anne has travelled to China many times since 1998 for study, including 2 years at the Beijing Sport University, where she gained a Diploma in Tai Chi in 2005. Here in Australia she has attended intensive training programmes with Professor Men Hui Feng, Master Yang Li, Master Wandy Ng and Master Hui He Tong.

She is a full-time professional Tai Chi Instructor and especially enjoys teaching senior citizens, as well as meeting people of all ages when conducting Tai Chi sessions at Federation Square every Tuesday morning and at Queensbridge Square (Southgate) on Friday mornings.

Anne was born in the Year of the Tiger.

Susan

Instructor: Susan

Susan has been studying Tai Chi for 12 years and teaching for 6 years. She teaches Beijing 12, 24 Form, 32 Sword, 42 Form, 42 Sword, various Qigong forms, Lotus and Shibashi. Her specialties are Dong Yue Style Barehand, Dong Yue Short Staff and the Tai Chi Double-Fan.

Susan has traveled to China three times including twice to study at the Beijing Sport University and attended intensive training programmes in Australia with Professor Men Hui Feng, Masters Wandy Ng and Hui He Tong.

In Susan’s other life she has put her nursing background to good use as a personal carer. She is very interested in bushwalking, reading, knitting and gardening.

Susan was born in the Year of the Rooster.

Theda

Instructor: Theda

Theda has been studying Tai Chi for 26 years and teaching for 23 years. She teaches Beijing 12, 24 Form, 32 Sword, 42 Form and Shibashi. She enjoys teaching Beijing 12, 24 Form and Shibashi the most.

Theda has traveled to China 5 times, 4 to study at the Beijing Sport University and attended numerous workshops and programmes here in Australia with Professors Men Hui Feng, Zhang Guang De and Yang Bai Long, Grand Master Chen Xiao Wang and Masters Wandy Ng and Hui He Tong.

When Theda is not teaching Tai Chi, she enjoys art and craft, reading, gardening, cooking, walking and hydrotherapy.

Theda was born in the Year of the Horse.

Chris

Instructor: Chris

Chris has been studying Tai Chi for 15 years and teaching for 12 years. He teaches Shibashi, Lotus, Qigong, Beijing 12, 24 Form, 42 Form, Shaolin Pole, 32 Sword and Tai Chi Single-Fan and loves teaching all of them. He is an honest and very dedicated instructor.

Chris has attended intensive training programmes here in Australia with Professor Yang Bai Long, Master Wandy Ng as well as having many years of experience in other forms of martial arts including Karate and Tae Kwon Do, successfully obtaining a second degree black belt.

In Chris’ other life he is an orchardist. He enjoys family activities, jogging, tennis, weight training and bike riding.

Chris was born in the Year of the Ox.
